Welcome to Mid-SouthCC.org

If you are looking for an opportunity to prepare yourself for ministry and for serving Christ in the Mid-South area or around the world, then Mid-South Christian College may be what you're looking for. If you feel the calling of God to expand Christ's kingdom either locally or globally, then MSCC has a program to help you prepare yourself for that challenge. If you are convinced that the world is becoming ever-more diverse and that any opportunity to learn to interact within this diversity would help you be more successful in your ministry, then MSCC again might have just what you need. In addition to the college's continued program for training English-speaking servants of Christ, we also reach out to a growing community of Hispanic Christians. As a student of MSCC, you will find yourself in the midst of a bi-lingual community, sharing in the experience of spiritual, intellectual, pastoral, and leadership formation. You will also find yourself engaged in a process of learning through action, that includes real-time ministry as an integral part of your learning. You will become a member of a Task Force Ministry team. You will work with other students on a real ministry project for the duration of your educational experience. If you are not looking for a place to prepare yourself for ministry, but are instead interested in supporting MSCC, you can send a much-needed gift today.

Thank you and God bless you,

Fee Increases

This news item is to inform current and prospective students of MSCC that some of our fees will increase effective the start of the 2009 Fall semester. These fee increases fall into two different categories. Some of the fees, particularly the dorm room fees and graduation fees are long overdue for an increase due to the increase in maintenance costs to the college and costs involved in organizing these events. Other fees we might call motivators. These include the late enrollment fee, the extension or incomplete fee, the schedule change fee, and the lost key fee. These kinds of activities by students create many problems for the smooth operation of the college. The fee increases are intended to discourage students from enrolling late, casually asking for extensions on course projects, losing their keys, etc. All fee increases were approved by the MSCC Board of Trustees during their April 18, 2009 meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Sullivan, our Business Manager. Click here for a complete listing of all fee increases.

A Great Opportunity to Equip Students!

I wanted to pass the word along that I have created a Wish List for Mid-South Christian College. This list includes some textbooks that we need for our current academic program. Would you consider going to this wish list and purchasing one of these volumes for the college? While doing our recent self-study as a part of the accreditation process, the library was identified as our weakest link. As far as the volumes are concerned, the library needs to update the currency of its English volumes and, secondly, we need to increase by leaps and bounds the number of Spanish volumes. Any book you can purchase from the wish list would be a tremendous help. When you go to the link above, you will see that the Wish List is in my name, but it's not for me; it's for the college library.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support for MSCC!

News from the MSCC Library

In October East Win Christian Church in Memphis, TN hosted its second Spanish book fair for the library. This year the church members bought 157 new Spanish books for the library.  Several of their members have volunteered to go to other area churches to help them set up a library book fair.

We are thankful to all those who have donated books to the library. The quickest and easiest way to grow the library is to add personal collections to our current collection. These collections do not have to just be books; they can also be DVDs, videos, and other materials.

The library will also be hosting a used book sale soon, if you are interested in the exact dates please contact the college and we will mail you a flier with the dates.
