1. Demonstrated Christian character. You will be required to provide references that will verify that you are a committed Christian having a reputation of appropriate Christian behavior.

2. Students must complete the application procedure.

3. It is the policy of Mid-South Christian College to require all regular degree seeking students to have on file either

• a high school transcript showing they have completed the twelfth (12^th) grade
• a notarized transcript showing completion of coursework through the twelfth (12^th) grade (Note: all home schooled applicants must submit a Home School Self-Certification Form along with their notarized transcript signed by their legal parent or guardian)
• a GED certificate
• a transcript from another college showing they have previously met one of the above requirements

4. All applicants below the age of 25 must submit an acceptable ACT score based on the following criteria:

A) Applicants are eligible for full-acceptance if they meet either 1) or 2)

1. Have a High School GPA of 2.25, and an ACT composite score of 18, or
2. Meet the requirements based on the following sliding scale:

B) Applicants who do not meet 1) or 2) in the above criteria may be eligible for conditional acceptance under the MSCC Special Student Status according to the following terms:

• Students accepted under Special Student Status may have limitations placed on the number of credit hours for which they may enroll
• Students will be removed from Special Student Status by achieving an accumulative 2.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters, or by achieving a 3.0 GPA for one semester
• Student may remain enrolled on Special Student Status as long as they continue to meet established minimum academic standards required of all students

C) Research has shown that students who successfully pass their freshman year and go on to be sophomores have the greatest likelihood of completing a degree.

• Though we have an academic standard that applicants are required to meet, we also recognize that some students have potential for success, though it may not be evident through text scores and grade point average. If you do not meet the requirements listed above, we encourage you to take one of the following courses of action:
  • Retake the ACT to obtain a higher score. Admissions will record the highest composite score earned on the ACT
  • Enroll in a community college and take general studies courses (e.g., History, English Composition, Speech, etc.) until achieving an acceptable transfer grade from another college. Please note that Remedial Courses are not eligible for transfer credit

5. Students who transfer to Mid-South Christian College from a recognized institution of higher learning, defined as an accredited institution and/or one recognized by the ED, (generally not correspondence courses), will find their credits receive careful consideration from the Academic Dean for acceptance as meeting the requirements in place of comparable courses offered at MSCC. Courses eligible for transfer must reflect a grade of C- or higher. Criteria for course substitution eligibility is based on the institution from which it is granted, the credentials of the instructor, and an examination of the course requirements as found on the published syllabus for the class.

6. No certificate or degree will be granted with less than 30 semester hours of work at Mid-South Christian College. Except in cooperative programs with other institutions, the last 30 semester hours of a student’s program must be taken here.

7. A maximum of twenty-five percent of a student’s total program may be earned through non-traditional educational processes such as College Level Examination Program [CLEP], Advanced Placement (AP) exams, and/or other certified training (e.g., that earned in any branch of the U.S. Military and Coast Guard).   All such credit must be approved by the Academic Dean. CLEP and AP testing available off campus only. Applicants are responsible for all costs associated with taking either of these types of exams.

            COLLEGE LEVEL EXAMINATION PROGRAM [CLEP]

• A score of 50 or higher on College Level Examination Program [CLEP] exam may be accepted in place of required General Studies courses comparable to those required by MSCC
• The following chart displays which MSCC courses may be fulfilled by successful CLEP exams:

            ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAMS

• A score of 5 or higher on an AP Exam in any of the following categories will be granted 3-hours of college credit
• Applicants who earn a score of 3 or 4 are encouraged to take the comparable CLEP examination (as explained above)

8. Re-entries. After having been out of MSCC for two years, a former student must apply for re-admission. A former student who has not taken classes for two years must follow the catalog in use at the time of re-entry.
